Saturday? See, any young person would realize you'd need this Sunday morning. It's the "Morning AFTER" pill, not the "Right after sex [which would still make it, most likely, an early Sunday morning] pill, dumbass! ;) On a more serious note, I love how he (and thus the Family Research Council) noted that "Additionally...which would kill an already developing human life." As if that's not the raison d'etre of this announcement. All the FRC is really concerned about is the woman's health, you see? I also drive a Lamborghini. It's red. posted by: DragonBait22 (reply) post date: 12.30.03 (9:15 pm) Reply to: evenerual Yeah, I'm sure there are a lot of stupid teens who will potentially misuse this pill, but that doesn't mean it should be unavailable to all because of some misuse- if that were the case, very few things would be available to us. :) posted by: DragonBait22 (reply) post date: 12.30.03 (9:20 pm) Reply to: whoisjohngalt "we have a generation that is really upset that the younger generations are actually able to enjoy their youth" You may be on to something there. Really, I think the issue is basically about morality and so many people seem to think that sex is immoral, unless it is between a married couple. Morals are relative though, so if someone wants to live under those morals, good for them, but that's not a legitimate argument. I don't know, maybe the morning-after pill will become the "new Saturday night party favor of choice." That way you know you can go have carefree sex. See, that's planning ahead- and I'm sure that's exactly what the majority of people will do now that they can get the pill without a prescription. And yeah, I'm pretty sure the major concern of the FRC is the potential to claim that this is a forced abortion. Which is a rather faulty claim considering the morning-after pill is a contraceptive- meaning it prevents conception. "I also drive a Lamborghini. It's red." Nice. posted by: bobcat0116 (reply) post date: 01.05.04 (7:36 pm) Life begins at conception, and sex should be saved till marriage. There are no "well I believe blah blah blah"'s about it. Thats they way God created the earth and those are His guidelines. posted by: DragonBait22 (reply) post date: 01.05.04 (8:27 pm) Reply to: bobcat0116 "Thats they way God created the earth and those are His guidelines." According to you/anyone who believes in that. It is impossible to prove that God in fact exists, so it is an unproductive argument to state that there can be no other opinions than those in agreement with the guidelines set forth by this supposed God (although which God's guidelines we're talking about depends on the many differing religious views of the world). Where life starts is debatable- you say conception, others would say fertilization, still others would say life doesn't start until the baby is born. "sex should be saved till marriage." Again, that's just your opinion and it is debatable. Personally, I don't believe in marriage. Differing opinions are valid because we have free will and the capacity to think for ourselves. |
